The "Palace" service according to his Majesty Biasini
Nice - Cimiez
In 1889, the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits built the Riviera Palace-Hotel on a one-hectare park, ideally located halfway up the already famous Boulevard de Cimiez.
The design and development were entrusted to the Niçois architect Sébastien-Marcel Biasini (also nicknamed “His Majesty Biasini”), who also built, among others, the Regina Palace.
The Riviera Palace in Nice, a 110 m long building, originally had high “Mansard” roofs which were removed in 1950 to be replaced by a roof terrace.
Like most Palace-Hotels in the area, the Riviera Palace did not survive the tourist disaffection between the wars and was converted into condominiums.
The huge park, fortunately preserved, gives this residence an exceptional character. The apartments, which have mostly kept their Belle Epoque charm, enjoy a remarkable view of Nice and the sea, and a haven of greenery in the foreground, at the heart of Cimiez Hill.
