This hotel was built around 1870, on the site of the Château Desmarets, built thirty years earlier. Around 1880, a wing was added to it, then its dome was removed after 1900, correlating with the addition of the first floor annexes to the southwest, modernized around 1941.
The Grand Duke Michael of Russia, his wife and a suite of 38 people moved in on November 3, 1888 and occupied the apartments on the ground and first floors. They returned there afterwards. In 1941, the Cannois masonry contractor Bourely transformed the hotel into apartments under the direction of the architect François Arluc, also a Cannois, for Mrs. Widow Marie Rivenc.
