Nice - Promenade des Anglais

Born after the First World War, at a time when a rich winter clientele abandoned the hillside hotels that had fallen into disuse, sought palaces that corresponded to the new vogue for sea bathing and games of chance installed along the seaside.
During the Roaring Twenties, Nice, which already had two large leisure establishments: the Jetée-Promenade and the municipal casino, was moving towards a third “Palais des Fêtes”, for the construction of “the most beautiful Casino in the world”. It will be finalized by the architects Dalmas father and son, Charles and Marcel and inaugurated in 1929.
From its “Gatsby the Magnificent” period to the present day, the Palais de la Méditerranée and the many owners who have succeeded one another have all contributed to maintaining the magic of these places which have become even more mysterious and mythical after the Agnès Leroux affair in 1934.
Since 2013 it has become the property of Constellation Hotels Holding and is operated by the international Hyatt Hotels chain. As for the casino, it is managed by the Groupe Partouche.
In this world apart, with the majestic Promenade des Anglais just around the corner, its beautiful private beaches below and easy access to Nice airport, it attracts people looking for a second home combining splendour and pleasure.
